Please email us with the booking reference number, your name, contact details and the number of tickets you wish us to try and sell to: info@hitthetheatre.co.uk It’s my first trip to the theatre, what should I wear? It really makes no difference if you dress up to go to the theatre, or you just turn up in jeans. If you think of dressing in the same way you would if you were visiting the cinema. How do Hit The Theatre gain access to cheap seats? The producers of most of the productions we feature on this site work with us in the belief that if you start visiting the theatre when you are younger then it will be easier to attract you back when you are older. Hence, by offering you cheaper tickets now, they are investing in your future as a customer. We work closely with each producer to offer the best selection of discounts and seats. I am thinking of organising for a group of friends, or colleagues, to a show, is that ok? Of course it is. We certainly recommend visiting the theatre in groups. It gives you the chance to have a social night out and also a lot of people are uncomfortable visiting a show in small numbers. We are also happy to help you with advice on where to eat, or have a drink, before or after the show. What are the difference between Stalls, Dress Circle, Upper Circle, Balcony, Boxes etc? Below is a quick note on each type of seating. Obviously every theatre is different and the same seat number in two different theatres can be completely different. If you need advice on specific seats, ask us! Our staff have experience with most West End theatres and are more than happy to provide advice. In most theatres, the rows are labeled in alphabetical order A-B-C-D and so on (ie row F would be the sixth row) Stalls (can be known as Orchestra, or Orchestra Stalls) – these are usually the most desirable seats, and are on the bottom floor of the theatre. Dress Circle (can be known as the Royal Circle or simply Circle) – these are on the first floor and usually very good seats. In general, the further you are back the worse the seat will become. Upper Circle – the second level up, higher and usually the price of the seat reflects that. In many theatres the Upper Circle is the highest level in the theatre. Balcony – the balcony is high up in theatre and seats are often in the form of a padded bench. These seats often offer exceedingly good value for money (tickets can cost lower than a quarter of the most expensive seats in the stalls). Boxes – usually found on the side walls of the theatre (though some can be found at the back of the stalls or dress circle). A box can make the visit to the theatre more glamorous, with the sense that you have a private area within the theatre. However, Hit The Theatre would say that in general a good seat in the Stalls or Dress Circle is usually better than a box seat. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
